Hey all. This might not entirely be related to unity. I'm looking for tutorials/resources on how to best make 2d assets inside an engine. I already know how to build a 2d game in Unity. What I'm missing right now is how to make assets that are optimized for a 2d game. I guess you can say I'm looking for some kind of a pipeline workflow. I work as a 3d artist at a game studio, so I know that part of the industry very well. But now I'd like to know how studios(especially for phone games) usually lay out their UVs for 2d characters and environment. How they get the most variations out of one texture, etc. Are there any good resources that anyone knows of? good books/videos/websites/actual assets from good games that I can take apart. What I'm looking for is any technique that can help me become better at making 2d assets, models/environment textures, etc. Thanks!
